La sanitat pública espanyola té l'oportunitat d'estalviar 90 milions en un any amb una decisió senzilla i precisa: treure del catàleg de medicaments finançats a la glucosamina. En la mesura que no és efectiva, doncs no cal pagar. Així de fàcil i clar. Qui vulgui detalls pot anar al BMJ a trobar-los. La seva recomanació és contundent:
"Health authorities and health insurers should not cover the costs of these preparations, and new prescriptions to patients who have not received treatment should be discouraged"
